MP&ES received this 80-ton GE locomotive in used condition and rebuilt to the specifications of Aurubis, the largest copper producer in Europe and the largest copper recycler worldwide. MP&ES manufactured this 42.5 ton Diesel Electric locomotive for the Isle of Man Railway. The unit is powered by one Tier 3 Cummings QSX15 550HP Diesel Engine connected to a 480 3Phase Alternator and powering four DC 250 HP Traction Motors. Read more about the unit here.
MP&ES received this 1956 GE 45-ton center cab locomotive in need of qualification. We replaced the head gaskets, all of the top end gaskets and the injectors. After completing the revisions, we gave her a spiffy new paint job.
When MP&ES purchased this unit, it had been re-configured as a cabless Auto-Haul type locomotive. All that was in place were two phone-booth type operator stations where the operator stood. MP&ES completely re-manufactured this EMD SW1200 locomotive. We maintained the existing 12-567C engine but installed all original supporting systems.
This locomotive needed a new look. MP&ES repainted inside the engine compartment, the cab, and the entire exterior of the locomotive.
MP&ES took this EMD NW2 locomotive and made it Tier 3 emissions compliant. We completely re-manufactured the platform and trucks, ballasted, and replaced everything above the deck. The locomotive now has all new cab, hoods, electrical, alternators, engines, etc.
Originally an EMD NW2 locomotive, this unit is undergoing several changes. MP&ES is currently re-manufacturing this unit with new Tier 4 engines and all new components while re-manufacturing the platform and trucks.
